Why an Orthodontist in Carolina Forest? Orthodontist vs. Dentist

An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. Dr. Faja-Fernandez has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth, as have all orthodontists. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the necessary treatment plan for you. Not every dentist is qualified to be an orthodontist, even though every orthodontist starts as a dentist. Dr. Faja-Fernandez, like all orthodontists, continued their education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification.

Why does it matter if you see your Carolina Forest Orthodontist?

Dentists receive basic orthodontic training so they can perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who don’t need to see an orthodontist yet. Specialists, on the other hand, receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic issues.

Seeing a specialist like your Carolina Forest orthodontist may change your braces experience by:

  • Providing more treatment options, with a variety of braces or therapies to choose from
  • Having personal experience treating multiple cases that are similar to your unique concerns and anatomical characteristics.
  • More efficient treatment and visits, because it’s the office’s main focus.
  • Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have worse than usual bite discrepancies that need to be dealt with
  • Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.

While you may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work done by your dentist, convenience shouldn’t be a barrier to seeing a specialist. You will only be stopping by your Carolina Forest orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.

And don’t let price be a problem either! Seabreeze Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the Carolina Forest area.

Testimonials from your Carolina Forest orthodontist patients

Dr. Juan and his staff are GREAT! Dr. Juan is confidently achieving what other orthodontists were skeptical about. Rather than let my son finish growing and then BREAKING his jaw to correct his bite, we decided to take Dr. Juan's approach and correct AS HE GROWS. I know he may never have a perfect bite, but I am ecstatic with the results so far! I highly recommend Seabreeze Orthodontics!

Dr. Juan and his staff are AMAZING! They really care about all the patients that they see and give them 100% their attention. They also make sure they answer any questions that we may have in-depth so we really understand the process. My son has been to 3 different orthodontists for consultations which all of them wanted to do surgery on my son’s face to fix his overbite but Dr. Juan was able to fix it to make his teeth and smile beautiful without all that. I really appreciate all of them!

Excellent customer service! 3 days into our vacation my son had an orthodontic issue. On a whim, I called Seabreeze to see if they could help us. I was pleasantly shocked when they gave us an appointment time. The staff was so welcoming and professional. They were able to fix my son’s issue with his braces and did it timely. We were so impressed! If we lived here, there is no doubt Dr. Juan would be our orthodontist. We cannot thank them enough!
